Your coach will get you to Piraeus port, the largest port in Greece and one of the largest in the Mediterranean, to get on the ferry for Aegina.

Sail through the Saronic Gulf and after 1hr and 15 min, you will see the town of Aegina with its beautiful Neo-classical buildings. On arrival a coach will wait for you to take you to the Temple of Aphaea, a stunning example of ancient architecture set in a beautiful natural forested area with sensational views across the island to the sea.

Its history can be traced through various phases with the earliest being the Late Bronze Age (14th Century BC). The interior housed the gold and ivory statue of Athena and the pediments depicted the Greek expeditions to Troy in which heroes from Aegina such as Telamon and Ajax gained distinction. The pediment fragments are now housed in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.

The coach will take you back to the buzzing town of Aegina with people enjoying the day in the cafes, restaurants and ouzeries. Have some free time for lunch and shopping.

Aegina is famous for its pistachio nuts and its pottery. Get on the ferry for your trip back to Piraeus and your Athens hotel.
